There are some events that are just so incredible they make me super emotional — and our May 3rd Chelsea Vintage Furniture & Flea was absolutely one of them. And Chelsea Town Hall, as always, delivered the perfect backdrop.
From the moment the doors opened, there was a feeling in the halls that’s hard to manufacture. The kind that only happens when the right traders, the right pieces, and the right setting all come together at once. Walking through the spaces, it was one of those rare days where every turn felt considered. No filler, no gaps — just an endless flow of genuinely exciting pieces.
Mid-century sat effortlessly alongside decorative antiques. Modernist lines next to softer, more rustic forms. Arts & Crafts details, folk pieces, sculptural objects — all layered together in a way that felt natural, not forced.
The standard from our traders was exceptional. You could see the effort that had gone in — not just in sourcing, but in how everything was presented. Thoughtful displays, beautiful combinations, and that instinctive understanding of what people are looking for right now. There was a real confidence to it, and the furniture in particular, was outstanding. Beautiful mid-century pieces — clean lines, warm woods, and proper scale. Sculptural forms that felt almost gallery-like.
It’s increasingly rare to walk into a room and feel like you’re seeing fresh stock at this level. But that’s exactly what this was, and beyond the furniture, the detail pieces were just as strong; layered ceramics, beautiful glass, small decorative objects — all the things that bring a space together.
It really was such a pleasure to put in another 12 hour work day, because when work feels like shopping/browsing and chatting to super lovely people then its just not proper work is it.
We'll be back at Chelsea in the Autumn, but before that we are launching our Hampstead vintage Furniture & Flea on the 17th May and we will be back in Marylebone on the 23rd May too!
